We had a small cool front blow in last night.  The air was cool and dry and I was laying tracks.  Too bad it won’t last and the heat and humidity will be back.  My mother’s day was great–I did my long run on Friday so I could have the weekend to hang with my kids and family.  My daughter made me a gourmet dinner (she won’t starve going off to college), I got yellow roses and a hand crocheted glass bead necklace. Cool.

So sick of the wind– up to 15 mph.  Actually, my run felt faster.  But, we are having  some heat and humidity this morning–already 85 and climbing.  Guess I better get used to it–the summer is just starting and the 1/2 is in August!!! I was reading that your pace will slow 30 seconds per mile for every 5 degrees above 60.  Wow.  Maybe we will all walk the darn thing.  lol

equals a run on the treadmill.  I  played with the incline–especially after seeing how hilly Austin is (I want to run their marathon in February)  There is a great running store there called RunTex–now that my daughter is going to college this fall in Austin I have an excuse to go shopping there!!! I spent two days sitting in a hospital waiting room/room with my dad (he had a heart procedure done) and I was tired after driving two hours back from Austin in the driving rain.  I watched tigers eat baby deer on Animal Planet which helped me get through the workout.  Morbid, I know but it matched my mood.

Actually it was the big 9.5–farthest I have ever run in my life.  It was windy but I’m getting used to that.  I felt a little tired in my hips but the rest of me could have gone forever.  I have put in three hard runs back to back because I have to go to Austin with my dad for three days–he is having a heart procedure/surgery.  This morning my husband, my dad and I blew up 100 balloons and filled my daughter’s Mini Cooper.  We wrote silly 18 birthday slogans on the windows and tied balloons on the antennea, the tires, the mirrors,  We made her get in and we opened the sun roof and took pictures.  My baby is 18 today.  We are taking her and her boyfriend and two girl friends to a sushi/ steakhouse tonight. Sushi is the in thing in this college town these days! I have never had it–

There are some runners here training for the San Antonio Rock n Roll Marathon in November (the one I can’t do since I am in a wedding the very same day). I joined them for a short run this morning–the two I hooked up with were quite fast but I managed. It was windy–even the old timers are saying this is the windiest spring ever. Anyway, I will join these folks every Saturday for a long run.
