i ran my favorite out and back–4 miles of slight descent out and 4 miles of slight ascent back.  ran the out in 36 minutes and the back in 34 minutes.  decided not to reverse it since there was no wind.  it was 78 before the sun came up.

I wake up at 5:30 everyday now.  When it is not a run day, I get lots accomplished before the house even wakes up!  I was going to rest again today after my awesome 12 miles on Saturday but couldn’t resist the beauty of the morning so I went out.  I usually don’t function w/o a cup of java but I was so focused on getting out the door that I forgot to plug in the coffee pot. Now I am going to go have my coffee….

met for our group run this morning.  the majority of the group does the 4 and 1 run/walk split.  three of us set up our own schedule–we ran four miles, drank our gatorade during our one minute and repeated the process. so, with our breaks included in the pace time, we had a good run.  i do believe you could have squeezed out our clothes and filled up a gallon jug afterwards.  my hip muscles felt really relaxed after my massage yesterday.  going uphill made them tired but i would recover on the downhill. i am sore in the upper back area though, from all the kneading that went on!!! i have run three days in a row now and plan to lay back and spend time in a chaise by the pool!!

was not scheduled to run this morning since our group is doing 11 miles tomorrow but i couldn’t think of anything better to do after tossing and turning.  i had a leg massage at 9am–it was deep and very productive.  i’ve got some tight spots and a few trigger points were sore (yeah–she was next to my bone!!!).  i plan to go back.  it makes me feel pampered–being the cabana girl, the yard man, the taxi, the cook and general laundress, oh yeah–domestic engineer–not to mention i work at an office part time, i think a few massages are in order.  eh?

went for what should have been 14 miles this morning. hip flexor started something weird at 6 miles. i thought i could push through it. stopped and tried to massage it at 7 miles, but the pain was way too deep. after a grueling 1/2 mile i decided to walk for a while and couldn’t. i couldn’t allow my leg to go behind the vertical. so here i am limping the 1/2 back to my car. i tried shuffling–too painful. i was getting nowhere so i decided to walk sideways and did the grapevine step all the way back. people were starting to drive to work and they just looked at me and smiled–thought i must be doing some fancy training. my hip flexor hurt so badly i could barely shift gears. i took some advil and stretched it out when i got home. it still has a little hitch in it.

ran 8 800’s.  first four clocked in at 3:33, 3:35, 3:35, 3:38.  did not read 100ths. did not time the last four.  i was tired at the end of 6, but hey, last week i was tired at the end of 4!!!

today’s run was nice.  it was cloudy and humid–i’m not going to even bother with the word humid anymore.  i live in south central texas and it is always humid!!!  next time i run this route i am going to reverse it.  i ran 4 miles out mostly with a slight descent and the wind at my back.  when i came in, i was going up with the wind in my face.  granted, it was only blowing 7mph (could have sworn it was higher than that-lol) but i like to run my second half faster.  all the guests from graduation have left and i have the house to myself (the family went to galveston).  i guess i will start cleaning up….
