The other day I was at the mall with my daughter–doing all that last minute shopping for university!! A woman walked up to me and asked “are you a runner”? I had to stop and think–”am I a runner”? I hesitantly answered, yes–why do you ask? And she replied–”you are in great shape and have the nicest legs”. I sheepishly thanked her.
Anyway–the point being, I started from ground zero ‘running’ in March with an idea to do a 1/2 marathon and am now training for a full marathon. I go through all the steps and processes to accomplish this but not until the other day did I fully grasp who and what I am–I am a RUNNER.
Side note to this mornings post workout crisis. The ferret was bit by a copperhead and I was going into shock as I was driving to the vets. Lovely…but I will have you know as I was experiencing this horrible physical sensation, I was thinking–not of ever seeing my lovely children’s faces again–but of not being able to run my race.
Since today was my hard earned day off I worked my horse first then went to the local shooting range and shot skeet for a couple of hours. I am not a hunter but love the challenge of shooting a moving target of clay. Guess you folks that hit a tiny white ball know the feeling. I hadn’t shot skeet in a while and could feel a difference in my arm strength thanks to the weight training I have been doing. Spring is in the air–
